Vietnam is not only famous for the beautiful landscapes and dynamic cities, but also makes its international fame with its diverse culinary scene. Get ready for your first Vietnamese meal at a local diner: the iconic bia hoi – Hanoi’s famous draught beer?
Today, let’s explore Hanoi by day to see the picturesque capital of Vietnam. Start with a one-hour rickshaw ride to see the Hanoi’s narrow streets and alleyways. We will reach Hoa Lo Prison – a historical landmark of Hanoi. Learn about the dark history of this establishment, who were imprisoned here, and why.
Moving on to the next part of our journey, we will take the bus to the Temple of Literature to learn about Vietnam’s first national university. Find out why it is called a temple instead of a school and how Vietnam’s spiritual and scientific values were greatly combined here.
Of course we cannot take you to Hanoi and not let you try bun cha. Let’s have this Hanoi specialty for lunch!
In the afternoon, we will visit the iconic Ngoc Son Temple on Hoan Kiem Lake and hear about the local myth of the gold turtle of the lake. Continue our adventure and it’s time for another must-try Hanoian delicacy: egg coffee!
For the rest of the evening, we will plan according to your preferences. Depending on whether you want to rest or join another activity, we will present you with several options.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Chau Doc, An Giang province, and visit the Temple of the Celestial Lady of the Realm. This is an extremely popular temple where worshippers ask for happiness and success for their business endeavors. We will get familiar with the custom of offering sacrifices to the local deities and find out what “bringing back luck” means.
Then it’s time for us to return to Saigon. On the way, we will stop at a local rest stop venue for a quick lunch.
Today we will explore Hue – the Imperial City with years of history. To begin our expedition, we will board a dragon boat, cruising across the Perfume River to visit Hue’s most famous pagoda – Thien Mu Pagoda. Find out why this seven-story pagoda is considered a symbol of this city.
Next stop, we will discover the Mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh. This lavish tomb highlights the blend of French and Vietnamese architectures as well as the contemporary art of shaping porcelain of the time.
Another important landmark of Hue that we will visit is the Imperial Citadel, where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Within the Citadel, you will find all the amazing attractions such as the the Meridian Gate, the Purple Forbidden City, Thai Hoa Palace, and other distinct monuments.
After exploring the royal city, let’s travel to an authentic local market where you can observe locals’ way of life.
Have dinner at a local restaurant. We highly recommend bun bo Hue – a spicy beef noodle dish that will warm your body up and leave you craving for more.
Leaving the Imperial Capital behind, our journey now unfolds into the enchanting beauty of Hoi An, guiding you through one of Vietnam’s most scenic routes. Our first stop treats you to the delightful flavors of Vietnamese tea, unveiling the traditional brewing techniques and the rich tea culture.
Next, we’ll venture to the iconic Hai Van Pass, renowned for its awe-inspiring panoramas—mountains on one side, the vast sea on the other—offering an ideal backdrop for capturing breathtaking photos.
Approaching Danang, we’ll discover the Marble Mountains, also known as the Mountains of Five Elements. Here, majestic karst formations house hidden pagodas and incredible caves. Ascend to the summit of the Mountain of Water for an unforgettable panoramic view of this splendid region.
After some exploration, rest up and regain strength with a meal at an oceanview restaurant.
Let’s kick start the day with a trip to the stunning valley of My Son Sanctuary. This beautiful landmark is a timeless complex of the majestic temples dedicated to the Hindu deities.
For lunch, we’re arranging a special dining experience at a local family’s home, offering an authentic taste of Asia and an intimate glimpse into local life.
Later in the afternoon, let’s explore the most scenic town of Vietnam: Hoi An Ancient Town. Take some time to admire the vintage charm of the Bridge Pagoda and the colorful historic townhouses, remnants of a once thriving seaport. As the day winds down, savor the unique taste of Hoi An’s banh mi, distinct from its Southern counterpart.
Cap off the evening with the captivating Hoi An Memories Show — an immersive cultural performance blending Vietnamese traditional music and dance. An absolute must-see while exploring Central Vietnam.
From Da Nang, we will fly to Saigon to begin our journey in Southern Vietnam. We will take to the most interesting corners of Ho Chi Minh City. From the old colonial part of the city center, the vibrant traditional markets, to historical landmarks, we will get to know Vietnam’s largest metropolis.
As dusk falls, the city transforms into a kaleidoscope of colors, lights, and flavors. Get to know true essence of Saigon as we hop on the motorcycles and ride through different districts, blending in the busy traffic flow. Led by our expert drivers, we will uncover hidden treasures and experience authentic everyday life. Fall in love with Saigon’s nighttime allure and delve into the city’s famous streetfood eats.
Leaving the bustling Saigon, we will now make our way to Cu Chi, located on the outskirt of Saigon. Today we will engage in an outdoor activity: harvesting fresh produce at an ecological farm. Guided by local chefs, we’ll delve into the art of using Vietnamese herbs and preparing traditional dishes.
After the cooking class experience, we will uncover the secrets of Cu Chi Tunnels, uncovering how the Vietnamese guerillas lived and fought during wartime. Discover the immense network of underground tunnels and booby traps built by the resistance forces against the American soldiers.
In the evening, we will get back to Saigon and enjoy dinner at our favorite barbecue restaurant.
Save some time for tranquility and peacefulness as we traverse to the serene riverscape of Mekong Delta. Cruise along the Mekong River, visit a floating fish farm, and sample the addictive coconut candy. While in the area, let’s stroll along the cozy village and the surrounding orchards to sneak a peek into the countryside lifestyle.
Next, we’ll get on traditional sampan boats to go deep inside the tiny canals of the water coconut forests. Channel your inner peace as you stroll through the tranquil waterway. For lunch, get ready to indulge in some amazing Ben Tre specialties including the deep fried elephant ear fish.
From the riverside restaurant, we will sail back to the pier and get back to Saigon.
After an exciting adventure from North to South Vietnam, it’s time for a well-deserved rest! Enjoy a fulfilling breakfast before checking out of the hotel.
